I’m Gay for Clouds

So I try to keep this site photo-focused (no pun intended), so I don’t talk a lot about my background as a web designer/developer. I’ve built several websites for start up projects, going as far back as high school. But now I’m proud to announce my latest project, which is photography-related, and it’s called GayForClouds.com!

Gay for Clouds!

This project was birthed out of a gig I worked in Miami last year with veteran hip-hop photographer, Zach Wolfe, in which we began to notice (and appreciate) the difference in clouds between Atlanta and Miami. We started shooting some of them, and then Zach pointed at some and said “Yeah dude, I’m so gay for those clouds right there…” and the phrase stuck for the rest of the week.

GayForClouds.com is a repository of awesome cloud photography for anyone looking to enjoy the clouds. If you enjoy the project  known as Clouds-365, which has been advertising a lot on Facebook, you’ll enjoy this. All the photos are user submitted, so quit reading this, and go upload your own!

The New Office

Leigh Davis did a great shot of Jay’s building for an article in New York Times Magazine, and I thought I’d try and emulate it. They’ve built a new building right next door since she did the shot, on the right of the frame.

I’m incredibly lucky, because the whole first floor of that building is my office, which is probably bigger than most executives here. I don’t get paid as much as one of them, but I also have probably the best boss anyone could ask for, so it works out.

Also in this post are just a couple photographs from around the city. Trying to flex the ol’ eyeball muscles at least a little bit every day.

New Year’s Eve

Some good friends from my days in Florida were in the city for New Year's Eve. I had the good fortune of hanging out with them and goofing around near the madhouse that was midtown Manhattan. Here are just a few selects from the adventures.

Killer Series

The_Hesitation_by_immanuel

I want to shout out to Juha Arvid Helminen for his amazing photo series on some kind of dark anonymous army. The set has an incredibly satisfying consistency of subject matter, lighting, and tone, all of which are handled beautifully. I would love to be able to take pictures like these.

In other news, keep an eye out for some Christmas photos from time spent with the family soon.
